Expanding Your Living, Work or Play Space
It is personally rewarding when our new homeowners come to us first when it is time to expand. Over the years we have once again helped our new homeowners realize their dreams to add on, finish existing space or build new outdoor spaces.
Cuomo Construction is extremely sensitive to additions, understanding that the most homeowners will live in the home while the new space is being constructed. We understand that we have to be extremely flexible and sensitive to work around the daily lives of busy families.
Consideration to construction and design continuity is of the utmost importance to any addition or expansion. We will work with architects, engineers, and design professionals to assure your home maintains these important aspects for long-term value.
Fairy Tale Pool House
Dubbed the Fairy Tale Pool House, this 300 square foot structure completes this property which is truly loved. Behind the gingerbread exterior, this new space features 9 foot ceilings, state of the art kitchen complete with granite tops and stainless steel appliances, a half bath fitted with wainscoting, custom Victorian finish work, Victorian antique accents, heating and air conditioning, and a storage area.
These homeowners wanted a new space for multi-purpose living. This 720 square foot new “great room” has fulfilled their wish in spades. The 30 x 24 new addition features 14 foot vaulted ceiling, 24 feet expanse of windows, a beautiful custom wet bar including granite tops, high-efficiency gas fireplace for coziness while watch TV, custom built-ins, a dining area and a desk/work area. Coziness is further enhanced in this beautiful and functional new great room by radiant floor heating. In addition, the entire home has been retrofitted with water to air geothermal system.
The family will gather in this spacious sunroomfor every reason and season. This room will bring the outdoors in, 365 days a year, without the inclement weather, bugs or other problems associated with traditional “outdoor” rooms. Whether it's the coldest winter night or the hottest summer day, this family will be able to enjoy their surroundings in comfort. This sunroom features twelve Low-E, high efficiency windows for energy savings. It is 16 x 16 in size with a vaulted ceiling.
Knotty Pine Garage
This expansion fits perfectly in its country setting. The family needed more space for recreational vehicles including the family boat and the solution was found by building this beautiful structure measuring 30' by 32' complete with knotty Pine stained shiplap siding. The boat has a new home and this expansion could offer additional living space on the second floor if so desired.
Gigantic Family Room
This custom home was built in 1998 with an original square footage of 2900. The proud owners opted to expand a few years later rather than leave this home that is truly loved. The addition added over 1900 square feet of living space and has been designed to blend in exquisitely. The main feature of the expansion is the 30 x 32 family room with a true Victorian design. The room features a masonry fireplace adorned with an antique Victorian mantel. The room has custom oak panels throughout complete with boxed window with window seat. The room also features custom oak crown moldings, a columned entry into the main house and large French doors to the patio. An additional Oak stairway was added to access the new second floor seating area, new bedroom suite complete with a new bath.
The owners of this home wanted to expandtheir outdoor livability and entertaining options. The answer was a pool house, but a pool house with personality. Don't let the enchanting structure fool you because this space features a full 20 foot bar area and a HDTV, complete kitchen with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops for the kitchen and bar. The livability is further enhanced with a bathroom containing a washer and dryer and a second floor recreational room containing gaming tables, sofas and a second television.
Not long after this couple's home was completed, the owners needed more utilitarian space for the landscaping machinery and a place for swimmers to change. The answer was found by adding a second garage with a charming carriage house feel. The structure is 36 x 24 feet and accommodates the needs of the family very easily by having a cabana room incorporated into the design. There is also access to the second floor loft which features windows and French doors.
